Another award for Jesse Valley from Viewbug

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013

This time a photo taken with my iPhone 4s  (“Spoon Bridge and Cherry”) was selected as one of the judge’s favorite photos. I have been very pleased with the quality of the photos my iPhone takes, and often use it for this type of photography. You can see the original link here.

Fine Art Photo at Dusk

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

I love the color the sky gets shortly after sunset, especially contrasted with the warm glow of tungsten lights. It is an amazing time to take pictures of cities and architecture.

Commercial Shoot for Nestle

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

Today I wrapped up a food shoot for Nestle. Once they have published or used the specific images they commissioned, I will hopefully be able to post them here on my blog, too. Until then, I thought I’d share an outtake of some sumptuous fruit. Enjoy!

Cattail on Purple

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

This is another photo that I took out at Westwood Nature Center of a cattail. It reminded me of the cattail photo I took almost a year ago with some red bushes as the background (you can see that image by clicking here). For this image, the purple color is from some flowering crabapple trees in the background. I love to reference other artworks from time to time.

The assignment was color—interpret it however you want. Both Jesse and Lisa shot one roll of 36 exposures, Kodak ISO 100. Then each chose their favorite. Take a look at the two photos below and choose the winner via the poll.
