Fine Art Photo of the Week II

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I was enjoying the nice spring weather when I saw this lone cattail off in the distance. I was able to isolate it by taking the picture through one red bush with another red bush behind the cattail. Enjoy!

Know a high school junior?

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

It’s that time of year at Jesse Valley Photography (JVP) when we’re looking for a few good high school juniors to become Ambassadors for JVP.

A JVP Ambassador is a high school student who wants unique and amazing senior portraits and wants to spread the word about JVP to his/her friends. Ambassadors receive great benefits for their participation in this exclusive opportunity. (Only a small number of juniors will be chosen as JVP Ambassadors.)

Ambassador Benefits include: Two (yes, two) FREE senior photo sessions. Ambassadors will also receive incentives when they refer friends, $50 credit per referral.

So here’s your chance to tell a friend, relative or neighbor about this great opportunity for the class of 2010.

Please forward this information to any juniors you know who might be interested (but hurry, the deadline is April 27 at midnight). They can go to http://www.jessevalley.com/ambassador to learn more and apply.

Thanks for your help!

The following video is a sample of my unique senior photography.

Fine Art Photo of the Week

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Everywhere I go, my camera tags along. I take hundreds of pictures, some no one ever sees—which is sad. Thus the birth of a new feature for my blog. This is the premier post of the fine art photo of the week! Each week I will post a new photo and brief caption.

Yesterday, on the warmest day in close to six months, I went to the local nature center (Westwood) to capture spring. I photographed many birds and new buds, but what really captured my interest was the wild turkeys. I saw a large tom strutting about in full display to a group of females who paid him little attention. Spring is certainly in the air!

Spring Portrait Day + Food Drive

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

We had so much fun photographing Spring portraits! For these sessions, we asked people to bring food donations for STEP in St. Louis Park, MN. We’d like to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who attended our one day photography event! We collected 5 full bags of food donations! Thank you for your generosity. Below are some of our favorite shots from the day.

Winner of Kid Model Contest

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Congratulations to Darinee DeNeui, winner of our kid model contest! Darinee wins a $100 gift card to Jesse Valley Photography!

Even though I didn’t have Madonna’s Vogue playing doing the photoshoot, Darinee had a new pose for each click of the shutter! She had so much fun being a “super model” that she asked her mom if she can do it all over again. She loves being in front of the camera and the camera loves her.
